Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission file is in English and is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF or WordPerfect format.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which appear in About the Journal.
  • The collaboration of each author is specified in multiple-authored articles.
  • The submission has not been previously published or submitted for consideration by any other journal (or an explanation has been provided in the Comments to the Editor).
  • Whenever possible, the DOI is provided for references
  • The text is 1.2 spaced; the typeface is New Roman 12 point; italics are used instead of underlining (except in URLs); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed in the appropriate places in the text and in grayscale.
  • If submitted to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in securing anonymous review should be followed.
  • The author has his/her ORCID identifier and has provided it in the corresponding metadata.
    Note: if the orcid is cut and pasted directly, the beginning "https" will appear. This form contains an "s" which will cause the ojs to reject. Verify that the ORCID starts with http only, without the "s".

Author Guidelines

Mercados y Negocios welcomes the submissions that intent to make a contribution to knowledge through research papers related to markets and competitiveness-oriented business.

Mercados y Negocios does not charge authors any fee for the submission of manuscripts, nor does it charge fees for the publication of articles (No APC – Article Processing Charges).

Papers must be original, which is why Turnitin (or its equivalent) is used both at the beginning of the submission and prior to publication in Mercados y Negocios.

The author undertakes that his/her submission has not been previously published or submitted for consideration by any other journal (or an explanation has been provided in the Comments to the Editor).

The author is requested to indicate his/her ORCID identifier. In case they do not have it yet, they can obtain it at the following link:

Papers should be submitted in 1.2 lines of space with Times New Roman font size 12 and 2.5 cm of space for margins and in letter size paper format, through the OJS (Open Journal System).

The article should contain the title in both English and Spanish. The length of the article title should be less than 15 words.

The abstract, both in English and Spanish, should be approximately 250 words each and contain the objective, method to achieve it, main results and most important conclusions.

Key words should be included in both English and Spanish separated by semicolons (;).

The Jel code should also be included based on the following link:

The minimum length of the paper should be 15 pages and the maximum length should be 30 pages, including tables, graphs and notes.

Tables and graphs should be constructed directly in word, in grayscale, avoiding the insertion in the text of the same in image format. The image format causes editing problems and detracts from the clarity of the contents.

The paper should be in English and contain the following structure: title (English/Spanish), abstract, keywords, summary, key words, Jel code, introduction, theory development, methodological analysis, discussion, conclusions, bibliography, references and annexes.

The citation system will be in accordance with the American Psychological Association (APA). This implies including the source of references in the paragraph, and not at the foot of the page. In the same way, the bibliography presented at the end of the document will contain only what is cited in it, in alphabetical order and respecting the APA format in terms of punctuation and complete data of the cited work. Whenever possible, the DOI will be included for each reference.

Note:

It is the author's responsibility to cite all the sources that support the content of his or her work, without omitting any of them. If the author includes in the content part of the material published in another medium, he/she should use self-citation, otherwise, the author will be committing "self-plagiarism".

 

 

 

 

Mercadotecnia y Negocios does not charge the authors any fee for submission / submission of manuscripts or fees for the publication of articles.
